The freedom of speech in Europe

The Danish NGO, FBF (Joint Council of the Freedom Movements) has launched a suit of immense importance against the Danish State at the ECHR.
In many ways, it is similar to the suit launched in the USA by the attorney generals of Missouri and Louisiana against the Biden administration, for conspiring with social media to illegally suppress the freedom of speech. The suit claims that the Biden administration “colluded with and/or coerced social media companies to suppress disfavored speakers, viewpoints, and content on social media platforms by labeling the content ‘disinformation,’ ‘misinformation,’ and ‘malinformation’. It further claims, that President Joe Biden himself, along with other top-ranking government officials, had worked with the platforms to censor and suppress free speech, including “truthful information”
pertaining to the origins of COVID-19, the effectiveness of masks, election integrity, and the security of voting by mail, as well as the ongoing Hunter Biden laptop scandal.
The Danish suit claims, that the Danish government already in 2017 conspired to suppress free speech through the founding by a news outlet, ”Monday Morning”, of a ”fact-checking” organisation, Tjekdet.dk, chaired by the dean of the Faculty of Journalism and largely funded by public grants, to subvert the freedom of speech on Facebook. The suit was originally launched at the Circuit Court of Copenhagen against the Prime Minister, Facebook Inc. and Tjekdet.dk, demanding an injunction against censorship on the part of Facebook and Tjekdet.dk, and a court order on the government to ”fulfill its positive obligation to prevent the violation of Human Rights, in casu violation of the freedom of speech, as laid down in the European Charter of Human Rights, art. 10, and the EU Charter of Basic Rights, art. 11”, as well as an injunction against the continued financing of Tjekdet.dk or other such organisations.
In the evidence, the suit presents numerous counts of censorship against highly qualified doctors and scientists, who are prevented from expressing their professional views, as well as censorship of links to international newspapers, the Statistical Department of the Danish Government, the Danish Health Authority and other indisputably true and accurate sources of information, for the sole reason, that irrefutable facts were seen to collide with the official, governmental narrative.
The suit was rejected out of hand by the Municipal Court, the High Court and the Supreme Court without any ratio decidendi, that is without the reasoning demanded by Danish Law on Legal Proceedings. This was expected by the plaintiffs, and with great certainty caused by the demand of an injunction, i.e. an immediate halt to the violations. The decision by the Danish Courts as such constitutes yet another violation of Human Rights, namely the right to a fair trial.
However, this cleared the way for the suit to be brought before either the ECHR or the EU Court, out of which we selected the latter. The complaint was sent on July 20th, symbolically the anniversary of the attempt on Hitler’s life and a coup d’etat against the Nazi regime.
The fate of this suit will affect all countries within the European Council, 47 countries altogether.
We therefore urge you to support us by whatever donation, large or small, you can. The total cost is estimated at 18.000 € only. The link to the fundraiser is here:
